This wine comes the rocky slopes of our Mahoney Ranch, planted mostly to the Dijon 667 clone of Pinot Noir. 20 months in French oak brought spice and toast notes to pair with the red cherry and black tea characters of the fruit.

“Just as Mahoney’s same-vintage Estate Vineyards offering, this is again a very well-focused Pinot Noir that exhibits fine cohesion and length, and it edges out its companion by dint of its slightly increased richness and depth. A tad fuller in body, it has the fruity stuffing to ensure that it will fare nicely with the extra year or two of age that its structured grip commends, but it is far from rough or ragged now and will make fine near-term drinking with the likes of lamb or veal chops.”
