The newest addition to the Mahoney Family Vineyards line-up is a cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon. We planted Cabernet in 2015 on the Mahoney Ranch Vineyard in Carneros. Our aim was to create a fruit forward, elegant Cabernet with a touch of acidity.
Tasting Notes: This full-bodied wine is brimming with blackberry, blueberry and currant. Concentrated fruit flavors give way to wood spice and forest floor, with a rich, satisfying finish.
Winemaking: Picked at 26.5 brix at our Mahoney Ranch, located in Napa Valley and Carneros, this cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon is more fruit forward than other Napa Valley Cabs. Spending 30 months in 66% new French oak (including Doreau, Vernou & Tremeaux barrels), this wine has a nice smooth finish.
