Chardonnay Carneros Select
The first Fleur de Carneros Chardonnay release was in 1991. To create this wine, we blend Chardonnays from our estate vineyards with fruit from two other Sonoma Carneros sites. We whole-cluster press, followed by cool fermentation, and six months aging in French oak barrels. Prolonged yeast contact in oak and lees stirring (batonnage) added texture and subtle toast aromas. The resulting wine is bright with citrus, pear and Granny Smith apple aromas. The finish has a hint of sur-lies creaminess and notes of stone fruit. This wine pairs beautifully with Greek chicken kabobs marinated in olive oil, lemon and tarragon served with Tzatziki and warm pita bread.
